Our events align with the UFC schedule—whenever there’s a UFC main event, we host a Rough Tumble Play Day from 2:00–4:00 PM.

How to play

At any point during the event, you can write your initials next to a challenge you'd like to participate in. Whoever adds their initials next to yours becomes your partner. Once there’s space on the mat, it’s your turn to play.

Before starting:

  • Fist bump and introduce yourselves.

  • Share your experience level on a scale of 1–5.

  • Agree on an intensity: light or moderate. If it's your first time playing together, always start light. If you go for a second round, you can choose to go moderate.

  • Decide on a time limit: 1, 2, or 3 minutes.

  • Make sure a ref is watching—and have some fun!

Safety First

We only allow light and moderate play, no high intensity or full contact. This event is for people who enjoy rough tumble play but also want to prioritize health.

Be sure to put your ego to the side.

All participants are required to wear a mouthpiece and groin protector. If you plan to spar, please bring your own gear. We have equipment available for new members to borrow, but regular attendees will be expected to purchase their own sparring gear

  • Get your opponent in a bear hug

Ground Grappling

  • Pin your opponent for 10 seconds (both shoulder blades down)

  • Pins and submissions

  • Weapon Wrestling

Weapon Sparring

  • Foam Weapon Sparring (1 vs. 1)

  • Gladiator Battles (teams)

  • Strike till Submission (foam Weapons)

  • Foam Weapon vs. Striking

Combination

  • Striking Take downs and grappling
